Does Lowes? Home depot? I know I could call but wanted to see if anyone here has ever got glass cut for them at a hardware store so I can have personal suggestions.

Have purchased glass bottles with painted on color, by mistake. When the glass gets washed in the dishwasher, the paint peels off. Noticed mostly in "Mexican Glass". I don't understand their reasoning for painting glass because the color peels off and a person is left with clear glass underneath.

I tired putting tea lights in a glass fish bowl full of water and the tea light flame was on the edge of the glass. a few minutes later it cracked. is this from the heat? is it just cheap glass? would thicker glass be better? Is it that the bowl was too full? It was about 3/4 full. Does anyone have any remedies? I am using this idea for my wedding.
