I asked the same in question in OTHER-PETS but have had no real answers. Just 1 that made no sense to my question.

We have had fire belly toads for awhile and they are doing very well. I would like to change their tank up a bit by adding real plants. We have 1 pet store in my area. The few plants they had looked very bad and I wouldn't buy them (yellow looking, covered in algae and very thin) I can't find what kind of plants can be put in with them. I have peace lily and devil's ivy that I wanted to put in there. I'm just wondering if this would be ok. I had both in my Betta vases when when my Betta was young (in a 5 gal. now). He did well but are they ok to use with the toads. I ask because I know the leaves are toxic to mammals but would the roots give out a toxin in the water?

I just don't like the look of the plastic plants. Their tank is so pretty but for those. Thank you!
